10 Questions we ask every band...

1). What are the names of your members?
Max Passell (Vocals/Electronics) , James Thomas (Guitar), Andy Munro (Bass), Rob Janke (Drums) 2). When did you all get together? Technically 2009, but we say properly in 2010; we had a slight line up change! Max originally used to be the drummer, sing and play electronics, which clearly was never going to last long, being half the band himself! Now he can act as a proper front man as we found Rob to go on drums, whilst unfortunately losing a guitarist. 3). How did you all meet? Max, James and I all live in a small village just outside of our Hometown, Winchester, so met through school. Rob was found by Max at college. At the time we were looking for a drummer, so Max asked Rob shortly after meeting him in music class if he would drum for us! He couldn't have picked anyone better! 4). How would you describe your music? Different, that's for sure! We mix Dubstep and Trance with Hardcore Rock and Metal. Currently we are venturing into the realms of Grime and even reggae on a couple of songs, so we always up for experimenting with genres. 5). Who are your major influences? Enter Shikari are our biggest influence for sure, although we make a point to try to form a different sound to them, despite also blending Electronica with Rock. We can't think of anything worse than being labelled a Shikari rip-off band! Metal bands like Parkway Drive and Bring Me The Horizon also shape our sound, whilst we also listen to lots of Electronic based music with producers like Rusko and Skrillex's older material. 6). Complete the sentence: One day as a band we hope to... Tour the world and play big festivals like Reading and Download 7). Why should people listen to your music? We offer something different. Bands have tried blending Dubstep in breakdowns etc before, but we aren't necessarily just following current music trends. We also definitely don't take ourselves too seriously, or have a band "image", so it's genuine music. 8). What are your plans for the upcoming year? James has been away travelling for half the year, so first priority is to tighten up the live set again! After that, gig intensively with this new EP and even lock ourselves away for a week or two and write some new material. We have lots of ideas that need working on, with ideas we have never tried before, so it should lead to some exciting new songs! 9). What albums/EP’s have you released so far and where can people get hold of them? Our first studio EP titled "Always Hunting You" is available for streaming on our Facebook page, or if you support what we are doing, we have made it as cheap as possible on iTunes, complete with the artwork we had drawn, which we are extremely happy with. 10). Finally – say something profound that will make everyone think: I love lamp.. |
